When you search for a cheap return flight on our website, we display all search results on a single page. As well as return flights with a single airline, we also show flights that may consist of two legs with one or more airlines.

A return flight comprising two separate flights may be cheaper than a ticket with a single airline. Please note that flight conditions may vary between different airlines. These conditions are set out here.

If you are unable to check in online or your online check-in has failed, you can check in at the airport (please note that an additional fee may sometimes apply). Arrive at the airport in good time, bearing in mind that you may have to queue at the check-in desk.

When the day of your flight arrives, collect your luggage and head to the airport. If you need to check in luggage, you can hand it in at the baggage drop-off counter. Once you have checked in, proceed to the security checkpoint. Before passing through security, your boarding pass will be scanned, so make sure you have a printed copy or have it ready on your mobile device. If you are travelling to a country outside the Schengen Area, you will need to go through customs to have your passport checked.

If you have time, you can go shopping, but do make sure you arrive at the boarding gate on time. You can find your flight’s boarding gate number and boarding time on the screens displayed throughout the airport. You must be at the boarding gate before the specified time. Missing a flight usually results in significant financial losses.

Can I check in for my flight online?

In most cases, yes. The vast majority of airlines offer and even recommend online check-in. However, there are some airlines that only allow check-in at the airport.

Do I have to print out my boarding pass?

We recommend that you do so. Some airlines do not allow you to have your boarding pass on your phone alone. You’ll feel more secure if you have a printed copy of your boarding pass.

Is checking in for a flight at the airport a paid service?

Usually, no. However, some airlines do charge a fee for checking in at the airport.

What happens if I miss my flight?

If you’re late for or miss your flight, not only will you miss out on reaching your destination, but you may also face financial penalties from the airline operating the flight.

You’ve checked in and received your boarding pass. But what exactly is a boarding pass? Your boarding pass contains all the essential information about your flight. After passing through security at the airport and before boarding the aircraft, you will be asked to present your boarding pass.

There are two types of boarding pass:

a paper boarding pass (see example below)

You print this at home and bring it with you to the airport. If you are unable to print it at home, you can print your boarding pass at a self-service check-in kiosk, or ask a member of staff at the check-in desk.

Mobile boarding pass (see example below)

You can download this to your smartphone. The QR code on the boarding pass can be scanned at the airport. Tip: take a screenshot of your mobile boarding pass. That way, you’ll always have your ticket to hand.

We recommend saving your boarding pass in case you need to make a claim later or wish to claim your frequent flyer points.

Before checking in online, we recommend that you check your personal details and ensure you have all the documents required for your journey: a valid passport or identity card, a visa and any other documents required for your journey.

Once you have all your documents and are ready to check in, follow these steps:

go to the website of the airline you are flying with;
click on ‘Check-in’;
enter your booking reference, first name, surname, departure date and flight number, and select any other passengers you wish to check in;
complete all the check-in steps, select your seats and any additional baggage (if required). Please note: once you have checked in, you will not be able to make any further changes;
print your boarding pass or download it to your smartphone.

You have now checked in for your flight, so when you arrive at the airport, all you need to do is drop off your luggage. This will save you time at the check-in desk!

If you have purchased our Standard Refund Conditions from us, you will receive a refund of 75% of the ticket price, and if you have purchased the Enhanced Refund Conditions – 75% of the ticket price (excluding booking fees, cancellation guarantee service fees and other products or additional services). You can cancel your flight at least 48 hours before departure. If you have selected ‘Cancellation Guarantee’, we will need to receive a medical certificate or death certificate in order to process a refund in the event of cancellation. If you select either the ‘Cancellation Guarantee’ or ‘Cancellation Guarantee Plus’ package, we will refund the money to your account within 15 days.

If you have taken out travel insurance with another insurer, or not through an insurer at all, you will receive a cancellation invoice from us including a cancellation fee. For flight changes that require us to contact the airlines directly, we apply a ticket fee depending on the service package purchased (full package – 29 EUR, extended package – €19, basic package – €0). In the event of cancellation, we will not refund service charges, administration fees or costs for other services.

Tip: If a ticket cannot be cancelled, it is sometimes possible to exchange it for another one. You may still be able to use your ticket on another occasion.

How many pieces of luggage can I check in? When booking your ticket, you will see all the baggage conditions applicable to your ticket. Once you have booked and received your flight ticket, this information will be shown on it.

Baggage allowances may vary depending on the airline and booking class. You can find information about baggage on the website of the airline you are flying with or in our ‘Airlines’ section.

Children and infants

A child’s pushchair is almost always allowed free of charge. Children are also usually allowed 10 kg of checked-in luggage. You can find the baggage allowances for infants and children on the airline’s website.

How to buy cheap flight tickets online?

Cheap flights and a convenient way to book flights – these are the two most important things for every traveller. Taking your needs and habits into account, we’ve designed the website so that the best deals are as easy to find as possible, ensuring you never miss out on price changes, and so that your chosen flight meets your expectations not just 100 per cent, but 150 per cent.

We can identify two types of users. The first are those looking for tickets quickly and who have no additional preferences or requirements. The other are those with a clear vision and specific requirements, so the first offer they see often fails to satisfy them.

The website is user-friendly for both types of traveller. Why? The answers are given below.

1. Quick search

Simply select your departure point and final destination on the homepage. In the same field, enter your departure and return dates. Then all you have to do is select the number of flight tickets you need and click ‘Search’.

The search engine will automatically prompt you to enter your email address. If you do so, you’ll receive an immediate notification as soon as the price of tickets matching your search criteria drops. However, please note that this field is not compulsory – if you’re not interested in this service, you can disable it and, in just a few seconds, you’ll receive all the current offers for cheap flights.

The Greitai.lt flight search results first display the offer recommended by Greitai.lt. This flight option offers the best balance of time and price, so those choosing flights based on convenience rather than price will, in most cases, opt for this option. The flights are then sorted by price and duration: if you click on the ‘Cheapest’ link, you’ll see flights sorted by price; if you click on the ‘Shortest’ link, the same flights will be sorted by flight duration. If you cannot find a suitable offer for specific dates, it is worth checking the lowest-price calendar. It’s worth using this if there’s no suitable offer for the date you’ve selected; you’re sure to find one on other dates.

If you stay on the website for a while, the system may automatically suggest that you check your search options again, as the situation can change very quickly. Therefore, if you haven’t found a suitable option at the moment, we recommend checking back the very next day.

2. Advanced search

On the first page, specify where you want to fly from and which country you want to travel to. Choose carefully, as flights from Vilnius might be more convenient for you than those from Kaunas; for example, if you select London, there are as many as nine possible arrival points. It’s therefore worth selecting the one from which it’s easier to get to your destination, such as your hotel. Before clicking the ‘Search’ button, please also specify your dates and the number of flight tickets.

The system finds all the options, listing the cheapest flights at the top. If you have any additional preferences, you’ll find plenty of options on the left-hand side. These include price range, direct or connecting flights, and flight duration. Perhaps it’s important for you to know the exact departure and arrival times, down to the hour? It’s a myth that the cheapest tickets are only available at the most inconvenient times of day – choose the time that suits you best and see for yourself.

By default, the search covers all airlines, but you can use the filter bar on the left-hand side to select only those that suit you best. Every time you select a new setting, the system refreshes automatically, so there’s no need to click anything else.

Once the search is set up to your requirements, we recommend taking a look at the calendar of the lowest fares at the top of the page. The first bar shows a graph of outbound prices, and the second shows return prices. Cheaper flights are indicated by lower bars, whilst the higher the price, the taller the bars. Simply hover your mouse over the bars to see the estimated prices. These can vary significantly – just one day’s difference could mean you pay four times as much. The graph makes it quite easy to compare these.

3. Top tips: how to find cheap flights?

3.1. Book your flight as early as possible. Airlines are keen to sell all their seats, so as soon as bookings open, they try to attract customers with discounts. It is said that the best time to search is 60 days before your flight. However, we do not recommend relying solely on this advice, so do check for flights closer to your travel date as well – individual cheap flights appear almost constantly.

3.2. Try connecting flights. You’ll spend a bit more time with stopovers, but you could save money. However, we recommend checking the price without a connecting flight a few times to work out exactly how much you’ll save.

3.3. Fly out and back with different airlines. The results show all flight tickets, with details of which airline operates each leg and from where. Perhaps Ryanair has a great deal on your chosen departure date, but there aren’t any cheap return flights a week later. It may well be that Wizz Air has something to offer on that particular day.

3.4. If you’re interested in cheap holidays, we recommend choosing your holiday dates 2–3 weeks before the start of the season or well in advance – 2–3 months before departure.
